I confess I'm not enthusiast of Christmas holidays; after my childhood it became boring and cloying, so now I have to bear patiently every year loads of colored lights, Christmas trees and Santas Claus, shop centers full of people buying gifts, marzipans and Christmas candies, familiar dinners and carols in Christmas time. I'm used to avoiding articles about music performed to fill this event and I refuse to listen to any kind of holidays greetings made by musicians to their fans on Youtube or similar. But that's different when reading the Nothin' Sez Somethin' blog. This is an American Page with articles and links about music and cartoons into the underground world. Nathan Nothin has wrote a series of articles which started with I Love F' ing Xmas where he proves his interest in Christmas and how it aroused: "When I was a young boy, I had an encounter with a ,shall-I-say, non-human life-form. I was five years old & my family had just moved from the only home I had ever known to our new 'expanded quarters' (my Father's saying)(???) because my mother was expecting my sister soon & it's what upwardly mobile white trash did. So we did.
I hated moving from my birth nest, so rebellion came early to NØ. I decided to run away & took off into the Allegheny forest. I quickly proceeded to get myself good & lost. As I wandered aimlessly, filled with fear & freedom, I was startled by a radiant young woman who stepped from the bush near where I was walking. I suppose in other times or other places she was an angel or Our Lady of Guadalupe, but as she telepathically 'spoke' to me I caught glimpses of other worlds behind her thoughts. She even smiled & thought "you're good (evolved?)" at one point. She informed me that my fear was unfounded & I was indeed 'FREE'. As a 'gift' from her, I would never again get lost & I would be able to make wishes come true by just thinking them, though it would have to be a 'selfless wish' ". Taking for granted his love for Christmas (Xmas is a time of giving, I love giving, therefore I love Xmas. But not the Xmas the Capitalist try to rip from our wallets. Not the Xmas that Xtians try to rip from our souls. The Xmas I love is the one that the Selfless give to others in love), he gives his readers information and liks to download about bizarre Christmas albums played in different styles: retro children's music, punk, funk, seventies disco, etc. An interesting collection which deserves devoting some time to check
